F.B.L. -- FANTASY BASKETBALL LEAGUE

Established in 1995 among a group of friends, we began the first season with ten teams.
During that first season we played for nothing (except for pride). We drafted players by email
since the GMs/Team Owners were scatterred throughout the country. Needless to say, it was a
long, arduous process. We made the rules as we went along, and we continued league
communications via email. One league wasn't enough for some of the GMs, so we also started a
mid-season league that year, which began after the All-Star break.

Some major changes occurred for the 1996-1997 season. The "Lifetime League" (a.k.a. FBL3) was
established for those who wanted their team rosters to carry over from season to season. Pride
was no longer the only thing at stake; the ultimate goal of each GM was to capture the FBL
TROPHY. The regular FBL league became known as FBL1, which had grown to sixteen teams, where
cash prizes were being awarded to the top three teams. (For those of you who were wondering,
the FBL2 league never quite got under way.)

Also new to the 1996-1997 season was the FBL Web Page, where GMs could look up important
information regarding the league.
